We are halfway through IB and AP exams, and in other classes, the final units, projects and assessments are the focus. The positive collaboration happening around the school is visible everywhere you look. We have end-of-year processes and events in front of us – look for details below.
High School Vision for an AISC Learner: Collaborator
We would like to celebrate the following students who have been recognized for being collaborators in their classes
Collaborators listen carefully to others’ perspectives and articulate their personal viewpoints in the pursuit of common goals. Collaborators actively encourage others’ contributions, ask questions and make suggestions, synthesizing others’ ideas with their own to create solutions.
Grade 9 – Maya Krishnan
Grade 10 – Camille Bauer-Legal
Grade 11 – Shania Penker
Grade 12 – Yejin Lee

Repeat: AP and IB Exam period and study leave
IB Exams are underway and end May 20. AP Exams are underway and end May 23
The AP/IB Exam schedule is here.
Study leave for all students sitting for AP and IB exams – Study leave is extended for each student for their morning or afternoon exam session itself AND the half day prior. For example, if one has a morning AP or IB exam, study leave is extended for the previous afternoon. If one has an afternoon exam, study leave is given for that morning. This allows students additional time to best prepare for their exam.
Late Arrival/Early Departure after IB and AP classes are completed – All IB and AP classes conclude on the day of the exam. There are no classes for that subject after the exam. Students are not required to be on campus during the block of a concluded AP or IB class, if that class is at the beginning or the end of the day. For example, after May 5th, when the AP Biology exam occurs, there are no more AP Biology classes. If a student had AP Biology class during Block A4, on Tuesday, May 6th, an A1 day, the student may depart school early, as A4 is the last block. To do so, each student must check in/check out with the HS Office and Security. There is no re-entry allowed.
If you would like your child to continue attending from 8:30-3:30, please inform the office. Otherwise, students will be allowed to arrive late and depart early.
Repeat: Semester 2 Final Exam and Assessment Schedule May 30-June 3
Please use this link to view the Semester 2 final exam schedule. The second tab shows those classes that have an alternative semester final assessment due during the revision period May 26-29.
The revision period May 26-29 is when students either submit/present their alternative semester final assessments, or review for their final exam (May 30-June 3).
The last day of regular classes is Thursday, May 29. The first day of final exams is Friday, May 30. Final exams occur either 9:15-11:30 am or 12:15-2:30 pm. During final exams May 30, June 1-3, high school students need to attend school only for their final exam time period. For example, if a student has a Monday, June 1 Science exam – they should be in school by 8:30 am as usual and at the exam room by 8:40. If the student does not have a Monday, June 1 afternoon exam, they may leave school after their morning Science exam. If a student has an afternoon exam, and no morning exam, they may arrive at school later than 8:30 am.
Once a student has completed their last final exam, they do not need to attend school, as all classes are over. They are welcome to come to complete final tasks such as returning materials, to pick up paperwork, and to say farewell to teachers and staff..
Returning school materials
All students must return all school materials (textbooks, equipment, library materials) that have been checked out to them. If materials are not returned, we will contact you and the student. In the case of unreturned materials, school reports and documents will not be shared until the materials are returned, or a fee for replacement is paid.
If you have any questions, please email hsoffice@aischennai.org
