Greetings from AISC’s Board of Directors and welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!
It is a pleasure to serve as Chairperson of the Board of Directors at American International School Chennai. My wife, Lavanya and I have a child, Shrinidhi, in Grade 5 at AISC. I have been an elected member of the Board of Directors since July 2020, and have chaired the Finance Committee and served as the Treasurer since July 2021. This is my second term as AISC’s Board Chairperson.
This year marks the first full academic year of Dr. Greg Clinton’s leadership as Interim Head of School. We are confident in his stewardship and remain committed to working alongside him as they lead AISC with clarity, warmth, and purpose.
The Board of Directors at AISC serves as the governing body of the School, focused on safeguarding the long-term sustainability and strategic direction of the institution. While we do not engage in day-to-day operations, we ensure the School’s leadership is supported and held accountable to its Mission, Vision, Values, and Definition of Learning. These Core Commitments guide every decision we make—from policy oversight to long-term planning—and reflect our belief in a community where diverse paths meet, learners innovate, and we make meaningful change together.
I am pleased to introduce this year’s AISC Board of Directors:
I also extend a warm welcome to Anand Bhushan, our newest appointed member. Anand is the Founder Partner of Bhushan Rajaram, a Chambers-recognised law practice. A Fulbright Scholar and dual-qualified attorney (California Bar and India Bar), he brings over two decades of legal expertise in corporate, technology, intellectual property, and regulatory matters. Anand previously served as General Counsel and Board Member at Cognizant Asia Pacific and was the founding partner of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas’ Chennai office. Recognized by Chambers, Legal 500, and Asian Legal Business, he has received multiple accolades including “Technology Lawyer of the Year” and “Corporate Lawyer of the Year” for his leadership in the legal and tech ecosystem.
We recognize that the past year brought challenges that required resilience and trust. As we look ahead, the Board’s focus continues to be on building strong foundations for the future. This work is only possible with the support and engagement of our association members—you. Your voice matters.
There are many ways to participate in the life of AISC. If you’re interested in sharing your expertise or perspectives, we invite you to express your interest in the Council of Advisors (CoA). The CoA is composed of parents who serve on two Board Committees (Governance and Futures) and assist us with our annual priorities.

AISC Board of Directors Q & A
Who is currently serving on our Board of Directors?
Our Board is composed of nine members. The agendas and summaries of all Board of Directors’ meetings will be posted on the Board of Directors Newsletter, which will be included with this Friday’s newsletter links. These will also be posted in paper form outside of the main reception at the school.
What is the role of our Board of Directors?
The role of the Board of Directors is to guard the school’s Mission by engaging in significant strategic issues relevant to the long-term well-being of the school. As a group empowered with the stewardship of the school, the annual and monthly work of the Board is highly relevant and meaningful to our current and future students, faculty, staff, and parents. The Board of Directors does not engage in the day-to-day running, management, or decision-making at the School. This is the purview of the School Administration. All questions pertaining to our academic program or general school operations should be directed to the section principal or the head of school.
When does the Board of Directors meet next?
The Biannual General Meeting of the Association is on Wednesday, September 10 (8:45 a.m. IST).
Who can attend Board meetings?
The AISC community is welcome to attend. Board meetings are noted on the calendar on RaptorNet and the first part of every Board meeting is open to Association members, faculty, staff and students.
