Dear Parents and Students,

There is so much happening at AISC High School. Eighteen students are being inducted into the AISC chapter of the National Honor Society this afternoon.  Cabaret is tonight.  IB courses are concluding, and AP courses will be concluding over the next two weeks. SAISA Season 3 tournaments are next week. A tremendous amount of hard work, courage and creativity is being demonstrated by our students.  Let’s support, be connected with and celebrate our students!

Cabaret is tonight!

AISC’s biggest talent show is back! Cabaret-e-Mehfil takes the stage on TODAY from 6:00–7:30 PM—AISC’s finest homegrown talent will enthrall the community. This year, Cabaret takes the form of a Mehfil—a gathering to celebrate music, dance, and artistic expression rooted in the traditions of the Indian subcontinent. Over 50 middle and high school students are rehearsing hard to bring you a night to remember. Don’t miss the magic—see you at the Cabaret-e-Mehfil TONIGHT!

HS MAP testing for Grades 9 and 10 April 21 and 22

On April 21 and 22 (next Monday and Tuesday), students in Grade 9 and 10 will complete the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) tests Reading and Language Usage. These are untimed, multiple-choice tests that can help us better understand student growth. These tests do not impact a student’s grades in their classes nor their placement in future courses. The MAP testing schedule is here.

Please support your students to do their best on these assessments of their growth by ensuring they get full sleep, a good breakfast and arrive at school with fully charged laptops and their charging cables.

SAISA Season 3 – April 24-26

We are delighted to announce that we are hosting Girls Basketball, and to share the links to view and support our Boys Soccer team as they represent AISC in Colombo and our Badminton teams competing in Amman.   SAISA athletes, coaches, teams and tournaments are a special part of the AISC experience.  Come support all the girls basketball teams and cheer our traveling athletes on!

Our HS Musicians are very excited to perform for our HS Spring Concert featuring our HS Symphonic Band and HS Choir on Tuesday, April 29th at 5 to 6 pm in the FAC Theater. They will be performing a wide variety of music from classical to pop to movie soundtracks.  Please come and show your support for our outstanding HS musicians.

AP and IB Exam period and study leave

IB Exams start April 28 and end May 20.  AP Exams begin May 5 and end May 23

The AP/IB Exam schedule is here

Study leave for all students sitting for AP and IB exams – Study leave is extended for each student for their morning or afternoon exam session itself AND the half day prior. For example, if one has a morning AP or IB exam, study leave is extended for the previous afternoon.  If one has an afternoon exam, study leave is given for that morning. This allows students additional time to best prepare for their exam.

Late Arrival/Early Departure after IB and AP classes are completed – All IB and AP classes conclude on the day of the exam. There are no classes for that subject after the exam. Students are not required to be on campus during the block of a concluded AP or IB class, if that class is at the beginning or the end of the day. For example, after May 5th, when the AP Biology exam occurs, there are no more AP Biology classes. If a student had AP Biology class during Block A4, on Tuesday May 6th, an A1 day, the student may depart school early, as A4 is the last block. To do so, each student must check in/check out with the HS Office and Security.  There is no re-entry allowed.

If you would like your child to continue attending from 8:30-3:30, please inform the office. Otherwise, students will be allowed to arrive late and depart early.

Sincerely,
