Hello MS students! We are looking forward to our Wellbeing Day on Wednesday, November 16. You will not have A2 classes on this day. Please check the schedule and tabs for the AM and PM activities. It is your responsibility to go to the location of the activity you are signed up for. We will close the day with field activities. Be sure to bring a change of clothes so you are comfortable after school. If you have any questions please stop by the MS Office.
Environmental Responsibility Updates
AISC collects glass, Tetra-paks, e-waste, aluminum, plastic, paper, and cardboard at our recycling stations near the school entrances. PLEASE do not drop your popsicle sticks, ice cream wrappers, or other trash in the recycling bins. Those are not recyclable and only contaminate the items we can recycle. Since we started collecting Tetra-paks we have saved over 1,500 pieces from the landfills. These will be chipped and pressed into boards that are used to produce school desks for schools in need.
Please be sure to use the paper recycling boxes in classrooms for paper or cardboard, and like the recycling collection points, do not put paper towels or garbage in the boxes as it may make the recyclable material useless. Since Earth Day 2022 we have recycled 1,939 kg (4,274 pounds) of paper waste! That amounted to an estimated 715 kg of atmospheric carbon saved. By selling the paper waste, we’ve collected over 17,000 INR for our paper recycling efforts to go toward further environmental sustainability efforts at AISC.
You know how the water taps in some bathrooms are making a bit of a mess when they spray everywhere? That’s happening because we installed aerators on the faucets that reduces the amount of water that comes out, but increases the pressure. The three charts below are for our water consumption from sinks, showers, and gardening for April 2021, April 2022, and August 2022. Those are three months that we’ve almost all been on campus, and the third chart shows almost a 40% reduction in our water use compared to the other months. Admittedly, April is drier than August, but we do water our lawns and gardens in August.
Here is the Season 2 ASA schedule

Sora Big Library Read
From November 2nd-November 16th, the Big Library Read is back on Sora! This year, the chosen title is A Snake Falls to Earth by Darcie Little Badger, a Newbery Honor book and a National Book Award longlisted title, which will be available to everyone at all times, with no waits or holds, in both audiobook and e-book formats!
Nina is a Lipan girl in our world. She’s always felt there was something more out there. She still believes in the old stories. Oli is a cottonmouth kid, from the land of spirits and monsters. Like all cottonmouths, he’s been cast from home. He’s found a new one on the banks of the bottomless lake. Nina and Oli have no idea the other exists. But a catastrophic event on Earth, and a strange sickness that befalls Oli’s best friend, will drive their worlds together in ways they haven’t been in centuries. And there are some who will kill to keep them apart. Please click here and here to read reviews of the book and let Ms. Babs know if you have any questions!
