There is an optional Thursday lunch Seminar focussing on College Essays TODAY ,Thursday , August 24. Grab your lunch and head to the BBT for this special session. We will be reviewing the Common Application Personal Essay and the UK Personal Statement.

Yearbook Portraits and Group Photos

Yearbook portraits and group photos will be taken from August 21-25 this year and you can find the schedule and other important details below. Please make sure to take your portraits at the designated 1-hour slot. Class photos will be taken at the Safe Assembly Point. Ms. Sunita will add you to the respective calendar invites.

They will be hosting a workshop to help you understand the admission process – How do admissions committees assess your application.

University visit / workshop registration

PSAT / NMSQT 2023- Digital Test Registration

PSAT/ NMSQT test (Preliminary SAT / National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be administered on WednesdayOctober 11th at AISC this year.

Juniors (Grade 11), if you are a US citizen, you are eligible to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship through this test.

Sophomores (Grade 10), this will be a good preliminary practice before you take the SAT tests.

Freshmen (Grade 9), it is completely voluntary if you would like to take the PSAT test. Please email me at spriya@aischennai.org and, if we have enough tests available after the Sophomores and Juniors sign up, your request will be considered. 

If you are interested in taking the test, please enter your name in the link below by next Friday, August 25th, 2023. 

PSAT/NMSQT test registration

Access to The New York Times

Please follow these instructions to activate your NYTimes account. This access is available to all students through your @aischennai.org email address. Please note, you will need to re-activate your existing account annually by following the same instructions.

AP Exam Self-study registration

If you would like to self-study and sit for an AP Exam in May 2024, please send Mr. Galaty and Ms. Sunita an email noting the AP subject you would like to self-study. In addition, please note the following:

  • The preferred deadline for registration is September 29, 2023.
  • The cost is USD127.
  • The deadline for registration without a late fee is November 15, 2023
  • After November 15 you can cancel your registration but a $40 late fee will apply
  • The final late deadline is March 15th, 2024

Please also note that self-study students do not get access to AP Classroom but will get access to the full subject guide and unit guide.

You can cancel your registration for a refund until March 15, 2024 (you will not receive a refund of the $40 late fee, however).

You will sit for the AP exam at AISC in May 2024. You will receive examination information in April.

Ti-Nspire Calculator Purchase

Students who would like to purchase a Ti-Nspire graphing calculator may please contact Ms Sunita (ssunita@aischennai.org). Payment of Rs 15800/-  needs to be made via bank transfer to AISC account.

Locks and Lockers

HS students who would like to use a locker, may please collect one from Ms. Sunita in the High School Office. Please note that you are responsible for the lock and the lock needs to be returned at the end of the school year.
