Auditions for the High School Production

Are you interested in participating in the HS Production, either as a performer or to help Miss Sara with backstage items? Please fill out the attached link to register your interest!
Auditions will be Friday, August 18 from 4:00 – 5:00 and Tuesday, August 22 from 4:00 – 5:30 in room 2708.
*Most* rehearsals will be Tuesdays/Thursdays after school and performances are October 12 & 13.

Class Coordinator Election & Pizza
Greetings High School,
The time to vote for your class coordinators is coming soon! On Thursday August 17th, during lunch, you will have the opportunity to hear from each of your candidates and eventually vote for the three individuals whom you want to represent your grade on the Student Council throughout the school year.

Additionally, please note that pizza will be provided, so make sure to adjust your lunch order well in advance.

Let’s Celebrate AISC’s Birthday!
AISC is celebrating its 28th birthday on Friday, August 18! Join us in celebrating this special day by writing out your special birthday message to our school on the blackboard in the Unity Courtyard.
- Please note that a camera will be placed in both these areas to record this activity and the Comms office will put together a special birthday video for our Social media channels using this footage
- We welcome all students to write their birthday greetings on the blackboard between the 16-18 of August

Yearbook Portraits and Group Photos
Yearbook portraits and group photos will be taken from August 21-25 this year and you can find the schedule and other important details below. Please make sure to take your portraits at the designated 1-hour slot. Class photos will be taken at the Safe Assembly Point. Ms. Sunita will add you to the respective calendar invites.
Seniors, please make sure to be dressed in black and white formal wear.

AP Exam Self-study registration
If you would like to self-study and sit for an AP Exam in May 2024, please send Mr. Galaty and Ms. Sunita an email noting the AP subject you would like to self-study. In addition, please note the following:
- The preferred deadline for registration is September 29, 2023.
- The cost is USD127.
- The deadline for registration without a late fee is November 15, 2023
- After November 15 you can cancel your registration but a $40 late fee will apply
- The final late deadline is March 15th, 2024
Please also note that self-study students do not get access to AP Classroom but will get access to the full subject guide and unit guide.
You can cancel your registration for a refund until March 15, 2024 (you will not receive a refund of the $40 late fee, however).
You will sit for the AP exam at AISC in May 2024. You will receive examination information in April.

SAISA Season 1
The SAISA sports for season 1 are volleyball and swimming.
Swimming practices will be Mondays 3:45-5:15 PM, Tuesdays 6:15 AM-7:45, Thursdays 6:15-7:45, and Fridays 4:45-6 PM. The first practice is Monday afternoon, August 7th. There is no sign-up, please just come to the practices with your suit, towel, goggles and cap. This year, AISC will be hosting SAISA Swimming from November 2nd to 4th.
Volleyball practices will be Mondays 4-5:30 PM, Tuesdays 6:30-8 AM, Thursdays 6:30-8 AM, and Fridays 4-5:30 PM. The first practice is Monday afternoon, August 7th. There is no sign-up for boys or girls volleyball, just start coming to practices with athletic clothing and shoes. This year, girls volleyball will be in Kathmandu, and boys in Colombo.
Ti-Nspire Calculator Purchase
Students who would like to purchase a Ti-Nspire graphing calculator may please contact Ms Sunita (ssunita@aischennai.org). Payment of Rs 15800/- needs to be made via bank transfer to AISC account.
Locks and Lockers
HS students who would like to use a locker, may please collect one from Ms. Sunita in the High School Office. Please note that you are responsible for the lock and the lock needs to be returned at the end of the school year.

Please note that in the event of a planned absence from classes, the pre-arranged absence form should be completed.
Please print this or pick up a copy from the High school office and request your teachers for them to fill in the assignments that you will need to get done during your absence.
