Call for Book Swap books!

The AISC libraries are preparing for our 3rd annual Earth Week Book Swap (April 25 & 26). The best book swaps have the most books. Do you have a shelf of books that you read but didn’t love? A shelf of books that you know you’ll never read? Or a shelf of books that you have outgrown? Now is the time to clean out those shelves. We welcome any and all books, in any condition. Books can be dropped off in either library.

For every two books donated, you will receive one ticket for a book at the book swap. Thinking you don’t need anymore books? Give your tickets to a friend! Only tickets may be used on Thursday, April 25. On Friday, April 26, books will be for sale for 10rps; proceeds will go to Shishu Shakti, our 2024 RISE partner.

Congratulations to Lilly , the HS Library Patron of the Month for March 2024!
Summer School/Summer Programs

As we are nearing the end of the school year, there are some exciting opportunities available to you during the summer break. Whether you’re looking to catch up on credits, explore new interests, or would like to have a taste of the university/college experience – there are options. Please make an appointment to meet with Ms. Francis regarding university summer programs. There’s something for everyone.

AP Information Meeting

There will be an AP Information meeting during lunch break Today in the Hall of Light for those who did not attend yesterday . All AP students sitting for the exam are expected to attend at least one session.

AP and IB Study Leave

Students taking IB and AP exams but who are not full Diploma students can avail of “study leave” to revise for exams. Students are excused for the two blocks (a half-day) prior to the exam to study and are excused for the two blocks during which their exam is scheduled.  For example, if a student has a Monday afternoon exam, they are excused from the Monday morning blocks to study as well as the Monday afternoon blocks to sit their exam.

Alternatively, if a student has a Tuesday morning exam, they are excused from the prior afternoon (Monday) as well as the two blocks on the morning of the exam. This study leave does not apply to Monday morning examinations (students may not take Friday afternoon off to revise).

Finally, if a student has a morning exam, they are expected to attend classes that afternoon after having lunch.

Please find the study leave schedule here. The study leave document link is here

When not sitting an exam or on official study leave, students are expected to attend their classes until (a) their AP/IB external examination in that class or (b) until senior exams begin (for non-IB/AP classes).

AI Use Survey for Middle and High School

Dear HS students,

Please take this survey to help us better understand your experiences with AI (artificial intelligence) tools and to help us learn how students understand what is appropriate and inappropriate use of AI. It should take 5-8 minutes to complete. Your thoughts on this topic are very important. You must be logged in to complete this survey, but your responses will be kept anonymous

Club – Music of your choice

Hi everyone, we have started a club that will DJ the music that is played at the Unity Fountain some mornings from 8:00-8:15. Please note that only songs with appropriate lyrics will be considered and songs that all students can enjoy. If you have any questions, feel free to email me jinha25@aischennai.org thank you.
