HS Symphonic Band and Choir Concert November 28th

You are invited to attend our HS Winter Concert featuring our HS Symphonic Band and HS Choir on Tuesday Nov. 28th at 5 to 6 pm in the FAC Theater. They will be performing a wide variety of music from traditional to jazz to pop.  Please come and show your support for our HS Musicians!

Semester 1 Exam Schedule

Semester 1 exams will be held from December 11 – December 15 with Revision Week and Alternate Exams from December 5 – December 8. Here is the exam schedule. In it you will find two tabs. The first is the semester exam schedule and the second is the list of alternate exams. Students who have a conflict or are sick are scheduled for make-up exams on Thursday/Friday December 14-15. If you have any questions please see Mr. Galaty.

ASMA MATHEMATICS CHALLENGE COMPETITION – JUNIOR / SENIOR INTER SCHOOL DIVISION

Attention: All High School Mathletes,

   We will be conducting the AMERICAN SCHOLASTIC MATHEMATICS ASSOCIATION COMPETITION  for the Junior Division (9th graders) and the Senior Division (10th, 11th and 12th graders) beginning Thursday 9 Nov . .  9th graders will meet in Ms. Kala’s room – Room # 3309 The senior division (grades 10, 11 and 12) will meet in Mr. Killmer’s room – Room #3308 ( near the rooftop tennis courts) at 3.35 pm. The competition  will be held once every month on a Thursday, beginning November. The duration of the competition is 35 minutes and you will answer 7 questions. The competition is open to everyone. Please direct any questions to Mr. Killmer or Ms. Kala.

Math Assistance Club (MAC)

The MAC club is here to support the AISC HS community with all the math questions you have. If you take a photo of the question and place it in the document below, the MAC members will help you with a step-by-step solution!

Meet and Greet with Ms Fitz

Our new Head of School, Ms. Fitz, invites you to “talk story” over tea or lunch as she attempts to learn more about our school community and culture.  Through this conversation, she hopes to share more about herself and learn about your experience as an AISC student.  What do you love about our school?  What would you love to see more of at AISC?  What are you excited about this year?  Enjoy some treats and share your thoughts and stories with Ms. Fitz.

AP Exam Self-study registration

If you would like to self-study and sit for an AP Exam in May 2024, please send Mr. Galaty and Ms. Sunita an email noting the AP subject you would like to self-study. In addition, please note the following:

  • The preferred deadline for registration is September 29, 2023.
  • The cost is USD127.
  • The deadline for registration without a late fee is November 15, 2023
  • After November 15 you can cancel your registration but a $40 late fee will apply
  • The final late deadline is March 15th, 2024

Please also note that self-study students do not get access to AP Classroom but will get access to the full subject guide and unit guide.

You can cancel your registration for a refund until March 15, 2024 (you will not receive a refund of the $40 late fee, however).

You will sit for the AP exam at AISC in May 2024. You will receive examination information in April.

Ti-Nspire Calculator Purchase

Students who would like to purchase a Ti-Nspire graphing calculator may please contact Ms Sunita (ssunita@aischennai.org). Payment of Rs 15800/-  needs to be made via bank transfer to AISC account.

Locks and Lockers

HS students who would like to use a locker, may please collect one from Ms. Sunita in the High School Office. Please note that you are responsible for the lock and the lock needs to be returned at the end of the school year.
