SAISA Boys and Girls Tennis begins on November 6!
Mr. Balaji and Mr. O will be coaching this season at our incredible outdoor canopied rooftop tennis facility.
If you might be interested in joining the team, come to an informational meeting this Friday during lunch at the Aayanar courtyard outside the cafeteria to meet your coaches and teammates and learn about the season and our tennis tournament. Bring your friends too.
Tennis is a fantastic, fun, and athletic sport you can enjoy for your whole life!

CHEMUN XVII Admin Staff:
CHEMUN is scheduled for November 17-19 this year, and we are in need of admin staff who will be responsible for reading and passing notes between delegates during the conference. Friday Night Lights
This Friday will be the first Friday Night Lights. It will be the last SAISA volleyball home games, and a Blue vs. White swim meet from 4-6 PM. Following that, from 6-8 PM, high school students and the teams are welcome to stay for a dance, karaoke, photo booth, and food. If you would like to attend the post-game dance and activities (including dinner), please fill in this form for your ticket to stay. The form must be completed by 4 PM Thursday. Students that have not completed the form will not be able to remain on campus or have the food, sorry.
University Information:
Columbia University (IVY League) runs year-round online extra-curricular and summer programs for grades 9-12. Their programs are great for university applications and it gives you the opportunity to try your hand at subjects normally reserved for college.
Here is a link to their flyer which will give you all the relevant information about the online Academic Year Weekend program. Spring applications are open and the early registration deadline is October 12. The final deadline to register is December 5. The cost is $2810 per course. The application for their summer 2024 program will become available in mid-November.
If any students are interested in the programs, there is an application identification code to waive the $80 application fee as a token of the program’s appreciation to you: IC322. Enter the code on the “Additional Information” page of the application. This code will be good for one year.

Math Assistance Club (MAC)
The MAC club is here to support the AISC HS community with all the math questions you have. If you take a photo of the question and place it in the document below, the MAC members will help you with a step-by-step solution!

You can also come to room 3307 (Mr. Mano’s room) on Thursdays between 3:35 to 4:35 p.m. for any math support (classwork, homework, assessment, etc.).

Meet and Greet with Ms Fitz
Our new Head of School, Ms. Fitz, invites you to “talk story” over tea or lunch as she attempts to learn more about our school community and culture. Through this conversation, she hopes to share more about herself and learn about your experience as an AISC student. What do you love about our school? What would you love to see more of at AISC? What are you excited about this year? Enjoy some treats and share your thoughts and stories with Ms. Fitz.

AP Exam Self-study registration
If you would like to self-study and sit for an AP Exam in May 2024, please send Mr. Galaty and Ms. Sunita an email noting the AP subject you would like to self-study. In addition, please note the following:
- The preferred deadline for registration is September 29, 2023.
- The cost is USD127.
- The deadline for registration without a late fee is November 15, 2023
- After November 15 you can cancel your registration but a $40 late fee will apply
- The final late deadline is March 15th, 2024
Please also note that self-study students do not get access to AP Classroom but will get access to the full subject guide and unit guide.
You can cancel your registration for a refund until March 15, 2024 (you will not receive a refund of the $40 late fee, however).
You will sit for the AP exam at AISC in May 2024. You will receive examination information in April.

Ti-Nspire Calculator Purchase
Students who would like to purchase a Ti-Nspire graphing calculator may please contact Ms Sunita (ssunita@aischennai.org). Payment of Rs 15800/- needs to be made via bank transfer to AISC account.
Locks and Lockers
HS students who would like to use a locker, may please collect one from Ms. Sunita in the High School Office. Please note that you are responsible for the lock and the lock needs to be returned at the end of the school year.

Please note that in the event of a planned absence from classes, the pre-arranged absence form should be completed.
Please print this or pick up a copy from the High school office and request your teachers for them to fill in the assignments that you will need to get done during your absence.
