AISC develops and implements inclusive policies and programs for all students with diverse and identified needs to fulfill their learning potential.

Goal: 2022-2023: Increase capacity of LSS and general education faculty to deliver targeted interventions/support to meet students’ individual needs.

The Student Support Services (SSS) team at AISC is working to continue to expand awareness of best practices supporting inclusion and to further develop the skills of our teaching community in order to better support all the learners in our student body.

During our All Faculty Orientation in July, SSS provided in servicing to teachers and support staff on the systems of support at each section (ES, MS and HS) which function to deliver targeted, evidence-based interventions to our students.  At each section, teachers revisited the referral processes for their respective sections, as well the systems and policies in place to ensure that all students are monitored to ensure academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success.

In September, the SSS team commenced assessing the needs of the different sections (ES/MS/HS) so teachers could rate their own expertise in differentiation, and prioritize the skills and interventions that they identified as most important to their teaching practices with their current students. Guided by this information, the SSS team is responding with a menu of offerings and in-house training that are available to teachers to develop their skills in creating and delivering Tier 2 and Tier 3 strategies within and across our classrooms.

We look forward to continuing our work towards the Futures Pathway inclusion goals to increase our capabilities to offer responsive, evidence-based learning programs that meet the needs of the diverse learners in our student community.
