Dear AISC Community,

Happy New Year from the Board of Directors! As we begin the second semester, we look forward to another season of growth, collaboration, and community engagement.

AISC’s Board of Directors, comprised of nine dedicated members, serves as the governing body of the School. The Board is responsible for safeguarding AISC’s mission, upholding the Charter of the Association, and setting the strategic direction for the School. Below are some important updates.

Change in Board Membership
We would like to share that Mr. Clark Pew and Ms. Nashid Chowdhury have stepped down from the Board following their families’ relocation from Chennai during the Winter Break. We sincerely thank them for their contributions and wish them the very best in their new endeavors.

At the Board Working Session held on Saturday, January 25, the Board unanimously approved the appointment of Ms. Gwen Llewellyn, Management Officer at the US Consulate, as a new member and as Secretary of the Board, effective immediately.  We warmly welcome Gwen to the Board and look forward to working with her in the months ahead.

Moving forward, the Board will continue to operate as an eight-member body for the remainder of the term, in accordance with the provisions of the By-Laws.

Board Election Committee
In January of each year, the Board constitutes an Election Committee which is responsible for overseeing the process of nominating candidates and electing members to the Board as per our By-Laws. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact Angeline Mohan for more details by Tuesday, February 4.

Once formed, the Election Committee will email the Association Members in early February with details about the election process, which will be conducted electronically. This will include a call for candidates for the upcoming two-year term (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2027), along with details on the application and election timeline.

We look forward to your participation in the upcoming Board election and wish everyone a successful second semester!

Sincerely,

Ravishankar Pillai
Board Chairperson
