Dear AISC Community,
It was a week ago on Wednesday, February 12, that the Board sat together and read our mission—the same mission we have started every Board meeting with for the past 12 years. But this time, we realized something: we were probably reading it for the last time.
For over a decade, our mission—anchored in the 4Cs—has served us well. It has guided our growth, strengthened our sense of belonging, and helped us nurture global citizens who step into the world with courage, confidence, creativity, and compassion.
But Complacency is not a C that is part of our DNA. The world has changed dramatically in these 12 years, and education has evolved with it. We knew it was time to ask ourselves: Is our mission still relevant? Can we make it stronger? Can it serve us better?
That reflection led us to something bigger than just a revised mission statement. It led us to what we now call “Our Core.”
Our new Core is more than words—it’s a commitment.
- A commitment to nurturing learners who chart their own unique paths.
- A commitment to transforming curiosity into purpose and challenges into growth.
- A commitment to making meaningful change together.
This will only come to life if we live it every day.
That is what this Core is all about. And that is why this moment is so exciting.
So today, we are taking this step forward together. We are embracing this new direction with the same courage, creativity, and compassion that define AISC.
Thank you for being part of this journey. The Board is fully committed to support our faculty, staff, students, and families through this journey. Let’s make it meaningful. Let’s make it ours.
On behalf of the AISC Board of Directors,
Ravishankar Pillai
AISC Board Chairperson
